Graveside services for Larry Wheeler, 68, of May, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 5, 2014, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Mike O'Donnell, pastor of Abernathy First Baptist Church, officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Wheeler died Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his home in May, TX. He was born July 12, 1945 in Anadarko, OK. He married Ruth Potter on July 16, 2005 in Lubbock, TX. They moved to May in 2007 from Lubbock, where he had been employed by United Super Markets as a butcher for 34 years. He was a member of the Brownwood Chapter 02, a Honda Motorcylce Club. He was preceded in death by 2 sons; Calvin Lewis "Skip" Thomas on January 9, 2006 and Franklin Joseph "Joey" Thomas on July 17, 2007. He is survived by his wife Ruth Wheeler of May, TX, 3 daughters, Lynette (Lynne) Thompson and her significant other, Richard Delello, Lisa Graves and husband Bobby and Tina McKinney and husband Brad all of Lubbock, TX, a son, Roy C. "Clay" Thomas and wife Sharon also of Lubbock, son-in-law, Kenny Thompson of Lubbock, a sister Charlotte Maddox of Rio Rancho, NM, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
