Lane Thompson

Services for Lane Thompson, 58, of Lubbock, TX, will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday July 21, 2020 at Wolfforth United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Lane was raised in Abernathy where he graduated from Abernathy High School in 1980. He graduated Texas Tech University in 1985 with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. He was a CPA in Lubbock where he owned and operated his own accounting firm. He managed several investment properties and passed his entrepreneurial skills to his children. He loved anything outdoors, mountains, riding four wheelers, golf, grilling and was a great cook. Lane loved to help people, whether that meant cooking for 50 people or giving financial advice. He simply loved being useful to others and he loved his family. Lane was preceded in death by his Father, J. Pete Thompson, May 11, 2014. Survived by mother; Carolyn Thompson of Lubbock, TX, a son, Bryce Thompson and wife Kyle of Lubbock, a daughter, Taylor Thompson of Lubbock, 2 grandchildren, Zeke and Reid and one on the way. A brother, Todd Thompson and wife Kasey of Lubbock and 2 sisters, Zoe Phillips and husband James of Lubbock and Kym Radke and husband Jack of McKinney, TX, and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Wolfforth United Methodist Church, 1010 Donald Preston Dr, Wolfforth, TX 79382
