Lahonda Huffaker

Memorial services for Lahonda Kay Huffaker, 46, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 10, 2006, in the Abernathy First United Methodist Church with Tommy Horsford, brother-in-law to Lahonda, officiating. She died Thursday, June 8, 2006, in Lubbock, TX. Cremation and services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Lahonda was born August 20, 1959 in Lubbock, TX, where she lived until marrying Rodney Huffaker on January 28, 2005 in Hale County, TX. She was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and cookouts. She spent much time at the Roaring Springs Ranch swimming and relaxing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends and playing golf with her husband. She was preceded in death by her father, Joel Dean Young and a brother, Sammy Dean Young. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Huffaker, parents Tom and Pat Whalen, a son, Sammy Meredith, a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Brandon Hickman, step-children, Roddy and Dena Huffaker and Shane and Kari Seitz, a step-brother, Darren Whalen and his wife Shayla, a step-sister, Debbie Conrad and her husband Randy. She is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Bree Meredith, Rowdy Huffaker, Ivey & Faith Seitz. The family suggests memorials be sent to the American Cancer Association. Abell Funeral Home
