Kyle Kitchens

Graveside services for Kyle Kitchens, 35, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 26, 2012, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Mike O'Donnell and Caleb Bartel officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Kyle died on Sunday morning, April 22, 2012, in Lubbock, TX. He was born December 31, 1976 in Lubbock, TX to Wayne and Terry (Martin) Kitchens. He graduated from Abernathy High School in 1995 and had played the baritone in the AHS band. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1995 where he served at Pearl Harbor until 1998, after returning to Abernathy he began employment at Brandon and Clark since 1999. He was a member of the Northside Baptist Church since he was a young boy. Kyle enjoyed drawing cartoon characters and devoted his life to his children. Kyle was preceded in death by his brother Chris in 2009. He is survived by his 2 sons, Bryson and Braden Kitchens and a daughter, Brittany Kitchens all of Abernathy, TX, one step-daughter, Brianna Dilbeck of Lubbock, TX, his parents, Wayne and Terry Kitchens and a brother, Mark Kitchens and his wife Amy all of Abernathy. The family would like to express their fond appreciation to the special people at Joe Arrington Cancer Center. They were grateful for the relationships, care and concern that Kyle and the entire family received.
