Judy Stracener

Graveside services for Judithdeen "Judy" Stracener, 95, of Levelland, TX and formerly of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 26, 2021, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Ron Presley, longtime friend of the Stracener family, officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Stracener died Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Levelland, TX. She was born in the family farm home in Knox County, TX, West of Seymour in 1926 to A.L. Stone, SR and Dorothy (White) Stone. The family moved to Hale County, northwest of Abernathy in 1928. Judy went to school in Abernathy and graduated from Abernathy High School in 1945. She worked at First State Bank in Abernathy for 10 years before going to work in the business office at Abernathy ISD where she worked for over 30 years. Judy was a faithful servant to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Abernathy until she moved to Levelland where she became a member of the Christ United Methodist Church for the last ten years. She was preceded in death by her parents, A.L.Stone, Sr. and Dorothy Stone, and 2 brothers, A. L. Stone, Jr and Delton Stone, all of Abernathy. She was also preceded in death by a nephew and niece, Billy Grimsley and Kathy Grimsley. She is survived by her son Pete Stracener and wife Cathy of Levelland, her sister Billie Grimsley of Abernathy, 2 grandsons Justin Stracener and wife Summer and their sons Ryder and Rhett all of Levelland and grandson, Sky Stracener and wife Sarah and their daughters Ryan Jane and Dottie all of Levelland. Judy was "MeMe" to her grandsons and their children and "Aunt Judy" to her eleven nephews and nieces, Gary Stone, Billy Grimsley, Kathy Grimsley, Jerry Grimsley, Bobby Grimsley, Mike Grimsley, Joann Shipman, Don Stone, Susan McDorman, Trey Stone and Sherry Henley. Pallbearers will be Justin Stracener, Sky Stracener, Ryder Stracener, Rhett Stracener, Randy Morris and Walter Kristinek.
