Juanita Phillips

Graveside services for Juanita E. Phillips, 85, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 21, 2002, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. John Lowrie and Steve Gauntt officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mrs. Phillips died Friday, April 19, 2002 in Lubbock, TX. She was born on February 18, 1917 in Ft. Sumner, NM. She married Carl Phillips on July 5, 1947 in Lubbock, TX, he preceded her in death on June 14, 2001. She moved to Abernathy in 1947 from Lubbock, and was co-owner and operator of the Phillips 66 station with her husband in Abernathy. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors; 1 daughter, Jerry Dell Oswalt of Abernathy, TX. 1 step-daughter, Vanessa Jones of Stockton, CA. 2 sisters, Dorothy Williamson of Plano, TX, and Doris Crump of Phoenix, AZ 5 grandchildren 10 great grandchildren 2 great great grandchildren The family suggests memorials be sent to the Abernathy Cemetery Association.
