Rosary for Juan Mendoza Villanueva, 64, of Abernathy, TX, was recited Friday, June 10, 2005, in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Rene Perez, pastor, officiating. Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday, 10:00 am, June 11, 2005, in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Rene Perez and Bishop Placidio Rodriquez, officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Villanueva died in Lubbock, Thursday, June 9, 2005. He was born in Robstown, TX, September 15, 1940. He married Julia Coronado in Lubbock, November 3, 1962. Mr. Villanueva had lived in Abernathy since 1962, and was an active member at St. Isidore Catholic Church. He served as a Deacon, member of the Crusillistas, he was a member of Cristo E Sus Instrumentos and was a Secular Franciscan. He was an accomplished player of the accordian. He is survived by his wife; Julia Villanueva of Abernathy, TX, his Mother, Dolores Villanueva also of Abernathy, TX. He is also survived by his 3 daughters, Diana Villanueva of Dallas, TX, Josie Camacho and Mary Helen Nunez both of Ferris, TX, 2 brothers, Antonio Villanueva of Lubbock, TX, and Roy Villanueva of Abernathy, TX, a sister, Susana Villanueva Gonzales of Houston, TX, 12 grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
