Rosary for Juan Aguirre, 83, of Abernathy, TX, was held at 7:30 pm Monday, January 12, 2004, in St. Isidore Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in the same church with Rev. Arnold Bravo officiating.. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Aguirre died Sunday morning, January 11, 2004, in Plainview, TX. He was born February 12, 1920 in Pleasanton, TX. He married Maria Ignacio Gill September 8, 1941 in Floresville, TX. He moved to Abernathy from Pleasanton, TX, where he farmed for many years. He was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Crusillistas. He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, a granddaughter, four sisters and two brothers. He is survived by 4 sons; John Joe Aguirre of Abernathy, TX, Adam Aguirre of Lubbock, TX, Tony Aguirre of Hale Center, TX and Santos Aguirre of Colorado Springs, CO. 3 daughters; Frances Perez and Lucia Garza both of Abernathy, TX, and Lydia Hernandez of Denver City, TX.
