Josefita Duran

Rosary for Josefita "Josie" Duran, 95, of Abernathy, TX, was recited Tuesday evening at 7:30 pm, July 30, 2002, in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Arnold Bravo, pastor, officiating. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial followed Mass in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Duran died on Sunday, July 28, 2002, in Lubbock, Tx. She was born on June 14, 1907 in Santa Rosa, N.M. and lived there until 1924 when she moved to Estacado, Tx, and in 1950 she moved to Abernathy. She was employed by Hall's Laundromat and later Lubbock Laundry and Cleaners. She was a member of the Society of Mary and the Guadalapanias. She was a founding member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lubbock. She is survived by one brother, Charlie Duran of Lubbock, Tx, nieces and nephews.
