Funeral services for Jose S. Martinez, 82, of Petersburg, TX, were held at 11:00 am Friday, May 10, 2002, in the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Petersburg, with Rev. Bernardino Hernandez officiating. Burial followed in the Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Martinez died Sunday, May 5, 2002 at his home in Petersburg. He was born on November 19, 1919. He lived in the Petersburg area since the early 1970's. He was a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista where he was also a member of the Brotherhood.
