Rosary was recited for Jose Alfredo Gatica, 57, of Abernathy, TX, at 7:00 pm Wednesday, November 2, 2005, in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Rene Perez, pastor, officiating. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2:00 pm Thursday, November 3, 2005, in St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Perez officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Gatica died Monday, October 31, 2005, in Lubbock,, TX. He was born March 19, 1948 in Taft, TX. He married Maria Marquez, July 17, 1976 in Lubbock. He had lived in Abernathy for the past 29 years, moving from Lubbock. He was a member and usher at St. Isidore Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Juan Inez Gatica in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Maria Gatica of Abernathy, TX, a daughter, Delfina Gonzales of Amarillo, TX, 3 sons, Jose Juan Gatica of Abernathy, TX, Ignacio Gatica of Lubbock, TX andVictor Alfredo Gatica of Amarillo, TX, 3 sisters, Janie Esparza of Idalou, TX, Rosa Maria Barron of Phoenix, AZ and Inez Luera of Wallis, TX and 8 grandchildren.
