Joanna Phillips

Services for Joanna Phillips, 72, of Plainview, TX, wree held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 27, 2005, in the Plainview First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Burila followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Phillips died at her home Sunday, July 24, 2005. She was born to Robert Evert and Doris Lucille Myers, March 23, 1933 in Lubbock County, TX. She graduated from New Deal High School and married Virgil C. Phillips September 2, 1970 in Casper, Wyoming. She is survived by her husband, Virgil Phillips of Plainview, TX, four daughters, Belynda Carr of Idalou, TX, Kim McCarrell of Amarillo, TX, Janice Wade of Richmond, TX and Lynn Matlock of Tulia, TX, eight grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a brother Robert Evert Myers, Jr. of Lubbock, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Lucille Merle Riggs in 2001, and a son, Jim Myers in April of 1985. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Abernathy Cemetery, P. O.
