Jesus Soto Ledesma

Jesus Soto Ledesma, 92 of Abernathy, TX, died Friday, January 13, 2023, in Lubbock, TX. Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. He was born July 23, 1930 to Gill and Vicenta (Soto) Ledesma in Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, Mexico. While living in Mexico, Jesus served in the Republic of Mexico Military as a Sergeant. He married Andrea Tovar, November 24, 1952, in Post, TX. Jesus was a hard worker, working for the Southwest Textile Mill for 30 years and farmed during that time as well. He enjoyed getting to wrestle with his children and play dominos during his free time. Jesus loved to eat, but truly preferred not to cook if he didn't have to. He is preceded in death by a sons Jose Ledesma and his wife Sylvia of Roswell, NM and Jilardo of Lubbock, a daughter Teresa Ledesma Flores and her husband Adam of Midland, TX. Jesus is survived by his wife of 70 years, Andrea Ledesma of Abernathy, children Estella Ledesma, Jesus Ledesma and wife Irma, Vicenta Rodriguez and husband Larry, Refugio Ledesma, Richard Ledesma and wife Frances, Andres Ledesma, Sylvia Cabello and husband Joe, and Laura Ledesma, daughter in law Mary Ann Ledesma all of Lubbock, 50 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and 2 more on the way, 8 brothers, 2 sisters, and numerous nieces and nephews.
