Abernathy, Texas

Jedidiah Ajax Cisneros, beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin, passed away on August 19, 2026, in Houston, Texas. Born on June 25, 2025, in Houston, Jedidiah’s presence, though brief, left a lasting and heartfelt impact on his family, the medical team who cared for him, and all who had the privilege to know him.

From the very beginning, Jedidiah exhibited a remarkable personality that endeared him to everyone. He was especially well known for his distinctive "Jedidiah Side Eye," a look fondly recounted by the nurses who became a part of his extended family during his time at Texas Children Hospital. Despite facing difficult medical challenges throughout his journey, Jedidiah’s spirit remained bright. He was a happy baby who cherished the warmth of cuddles, whose laughter and smiles brought joy amid adversity.

Jedidiah's eyes lit up while watching Finding Nemo and Mickey Mouse, and his favorite food was mangos, bringing moments of happiness. Bathtime became a special ritual, accompanied by his cherished 80’s playlist, and he often drifted to sleep to the gentle voice of his mother singing “You Are My Sunshine.” His curly hair was admired by all, becoming something of a trademark, and he forged a special bond with his favorite primary nurse, "Tia" Angie Thames. Jedidiah’s playful nature also meant that those around him came to know his infamous bite—a sign of his spirited approach to every moment.

Over the course of 420 days, Jedidiah received care in the Level 4 NICU at Texas Children Hospital. Throughout this time, he underwent numerous surgeries and treatments, always surrounded by the unwavering love and support of his family and compassionate medical staff. His resilience was a source of inspiration to all who knew his story.

Jedidiah is survived by his devoted mother, Marissa Cisneros of Abernathy; his grandmother, Maria Arreola and grandfather, Francisco Renteria both of Abernathy; his brothers, Kratos and Leonidas; his aunt, Victoria Cisneros and her husband Dustin Baldwin of Abernathy, his uncles, Jaime Cisneros and wife Jen of Williamsport, PA, Samuel Cisneros of Abilene, TX, and Kaci Cisneros of Abernathy; his cousins, Gabriella Cisneros, Maguire Cisneros, Sipriana Cisneros, and Samuel Cisneros, Jr. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Manuel Cisneros. These relationships were a vital part of Jedidiah’s life, forming a circle of love and support that surrounded him throughout his time.
