Jean-Marie Y. Brismée of Givry, Belgium (Europe) passed away on February 12, 2005 at the age of 78 years at University Medical Center in Lubbock, while vacationing in Texas. He was a resident of Leugnies in Belgium. He attended lower school in Givry, completed his high school education in Mons and was the first of his family to acquire a University degree. He became an agricultural engineer, did a specialty in phytopharmacy and taught in college for 35 years. Papet had a passion for planting trees and had a great love for geology and had glorious memories of his trips in the US to the Grand Canyon, Yosemite Park, Yellowstone and the Petrified Forest. He always loved children and was generous to those in need. He leaves his two sons Jean-Lou and Jean-Michel Brismée, a daughter-in-law, Roxanne Lloyd and his seven grand children Aude, Kita, Ashley, Nicholas, Aimée, Marcus and Zoé, as well as one brother, Michel, and one sister Christiane. The family held a celebration of Papet's life Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 5 p.m. in their home in Lubbock. Cremation was under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX.
