Jean Johnson Services for Jean Johnson, 71, were held Thursday, October 23, 2003, at 1:00 pm in the First Baptist Church in Hale Center, TX, with Rev. Willie Lee Griffin, pastor of Friendship Holy Baptist Church officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Hiome of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Johnson died October 18, 2003 in Hale Center, her great granddaughter Denatzhia (Moses) Johnson also died in the same auto accident. She was born April 2, 1932 in Texarkana, TX and married T.J. Johnson in 1953 in Bonham, TX. He died in 1966. She was a longtime resident of Hale Center moving from Honey Grove, TX. She was a member Friendship Holy Baptist Church in Hale Center for 26 years. She is survived by 3 sons, Wilmer Lee Briggs of Dallas, TX, Ocie Johnson of Lubbock, TX and W.H. Johnson of Hale Center, TX, 6 daughters, Nora Johnson, Doris Wilson and Vanessa James all of Lubbock, TX, Marilyn Johnson and Norma Johnson both of Hale Center, TX and Patricia Fortune of Bellevue, Nebraska, 2 brothers, Ira Boone of Hale Center, TX and Ira Joe Poindexter of San Diego, CA, 1 sister, Nona Johnson of Hale Center, TX 27 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren Abell Funeral Home
