Services for Janice Phillips, 69, of Hale Center, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 3, 2014, in the Hale Center First Baptist Church with Brothers Carol Green and Gerald Bedwell officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Cemetery, Plainview, TX, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Phillips died Friday, February 28, 2014, in Plainview, TX. She was born January 12, 1945 in Lubbock, TX to Brice and Pearlie (Davis) Robertson, grew up in Plainview and attended school in both Lubbock and Plainview. She earned her Associates degree from Texas Tech University. They moved to Hale Center in 1975 from Haskell, TX and she was employed at the Atmos office for 27 years. She had been a Girl Scout Leader and had served as Area Vice-President of the PTA while living in Haskell. She also served as Area President for the Young Homemakers and was a member of the Hale Center First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Le Roy Robertson in August of 2012 and a sister, Norma Southerland in January of 2014. She is survived by her husband, Ned Phillips of Hale Center, 2 children, Janet Watson and husband Mike of Hale Center, TX and Ronald Phillips and wife Jamey of Lubbock, TX, 6 grandchildren, Devin Watson, Ariel Watson, Austin Phillips, Grant Phillips, Gavin Phillips and Holden Phillips, 3 great grandchildren, Ezekiel Watson, Michael Rambo and Elijah Rambo and a twin brother, Dub Robertson and wife Peggy of Shallowater, TX.
