Janice McKenzie of Abernathy, Texas, passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 88 in Lubbock, Texas. Born on October 24, 1937, in Brady, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Martin and Marie Neve. Janice's life was marked by her profound devotion to family, community, and her faith.

A proud graduate of Abernathy High School, Janice completed her education in 1956. She married Don McKenzie on September 19, 1958, and together they created a loving home for over 54 years. She was a proud great-grandmother to five wonderful great-grandchildren: Shane Kirk, Lexi Kirk, Masyn McKenzie, Rylynn McKenzie, and Remy McKenzie. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Wilson Neve, and his wife, Betty.

With a legacy of kindness, love, faith, and a commitment to helping others, Janice McKenzie will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
