James M. Taylor

Services for James M. Taylor, 63, of Lubbock, TX, will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, May 11, 2018, at Abell Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Parmer officiating.  Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.  Viewing will be held from 10:00 am until service time at Abell Funeral Home.

Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, May 9, 2018, in Lubbock, TX.

He was born May 15, 1954, in Lubbock, TX to Ted and Dena (Walker) Taylor.  He was raised in Shallowater, TX, where he graduated from Shallowater High School in 1972.  He married Glenda Robinson, July 5, 1980 in Levelland, TX.  He worked as a parts manager in several communities including Odessa, Levelland and Austin.  They moved to the Dallas, TX where they lived for 19 years prior to moving to Houston and Phoenix , AZ and returned to Lubbock to be near family.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Teddy Taylor.

He is survived by his wife Glenda of Lubbock , a daughter, Tana Lynn of Spade, TX, 2 grandchildren, Jayden Taylor and Marissa Lynn both of Spade, 3 sisters, Mary Sanders, Connie Dunlap and Sherron Reid all of Lubbock, 6 brothers, Tom Taylor of Spur, TX, Carey Taylor of Lubbock, Billy Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Roy Taylor and Timmy Taylor all of Shallowater, as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
