Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 14, 2003 in the same church. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Gerhardt died Thursday, April 10, 2003, in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born on February 24, 1944 in Plainview, TX. He was raised in Abernathy and had lived in Lubbock, TX before moving to Colorado. He was a former member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy. He is survived by a daughter, Aretha Gerhardt of Lubbock, TX. His mother, Tommie Gerhardt of Lubbock, TX. 1 sister, Irene Ross of Lubbock, TX. 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren Abell Funeral Home
