Services for James "Red" Fisher, 63, of Cotton Center, TX were held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 11, 2003, in the First Baptist Church, Cotton Center, with Rev. J. D. Templeton, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Center Plains Cemetery, TX, under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Fisher died Saturday, November 8, 2003, in Lubbock, TX. He was born on March 6, 1940 in Asher, OK. He married Lou Bradshaw on December 3, 1960 in Abernathy, TX. He moved to Cotton Center in the early 1950's from Asher, OK, with his family. He served as a Cotton Center School Board Trustee and was a member of the First Baptist Church. He farmed for many years. He is survived by his wife, Lou Fisher of Cotton Center, TX, 1 daughter, Karen Fisher of Plainview, TX, 1 brother, Charles Fisher of Abernathy, TX, 1 sister, Delois Garcia of Lubbock, TX, 1 granddaughter, Courtney of Plainview, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Reba Walker of Plainview, TX, and his children adopted by love, Tiffani, Kevin, Shane and Stephanie Sexton.
