Graveside services for Hilda Jean Shackelford, 83, of Olton, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2008, in the Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Wendell Horn of First United Methodist Church in Levelland officiating.Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Shackelford died Wednesday, September 3, 2008, in Lubbock, TX. She was born December 14, 1924 in Chickasha, OK. She married Eugene Shackelford on December 9, 1939 in Cotton Center, TX, he preceded her in death February 4, 1984. She moved to Olton in 1968 from Cotton Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Olton. She is survived by one son, Larry and his wife Martha Shackelford of Lubbock, TX, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
