Helen Crow

Services for Helen Frances Crow, 87, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 16, 2008, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike O'Donnell officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Crow died Friday, December 12, 2008, in Abernathy, TX. She was born July 20, 1921 in Rogers, TX. It was in Rogers, TX, that she married Emmett Marvin Crow on August 6, 1938. They moved to Abernathy from Rogers in 1939. She had served as a foster grandparent at the Lubbock State School, was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church where she was a member of the TEL Sunday School Class. She had also been a member of the County Line Quilting Club. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, and a grandson, Darren Knox in 1994. She is survived by a daughter, June Knox, of Abernathy, TX, 2 granddaughters, Denice and Rusty Abbe and Debbie and Shawn Sampley all of Lubbock, TX, 6 great grandchildren, Lindsey and Stuart Bartley, Ashley and Alyssa Householder and Regan and kelsey Abbe and 2 great grandchildren, Ashtyn Taylor Bartley and Jaxson Reid Bartley. She is also survived by a brother, Leonard Hargrove and 3 sisters, Cleo Farell, maurice Taylor and Ruth Taylor.
