Harold Stanton

Graveside services for Harold Mathers Stanton, 88, of Abernathy, TX were held at 2:30 pm Tuesday, January 20, 2009 in the Abernathy Cemetery with Daniel Stanton officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. The Stanton family received friends at Abell Funeral Home from 5pm until 7pm Monday, January 19, 2009. Mr. Stanton died Saturday, January 17, 2009 in Lubbock, TX. He was born November 8, 1920 to William George and Lula Bell Brooks Stanton in Prosper, TX. He married Laura Baker in Clovis, NM on October 30, 1941. He moved to Abernathy in 1945 from Lorenzo, TX. He worked with farm equipment most of his life and was co-owner in a Case dealership in Abernathy, TX. He retired from Case Power and Equipment after 20 years. He then worked with his son at Feagins Implement for 19 more years. He is preceded in death by his beloved Laura and brothers Mack, M.B. and M.J. (Dude) Stanton. Those left to cherish his memory are his son Dayne and wife Beverley and three very loved grandchildren, Dayna, Bryan and Brittany Stanton all of Idalou, TX, a brother Ralph Rogers of Arlington, TX and a sister, Janie Ringener of Lawton, OK.
