Harley Howard

Services for Harley H. Howard, 88, of Hale Center, TX, will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Abell Funeral Home, Hale Center, TX. Cremation will follow under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Howard died at his home in Hale Center on Friday, August 22, 2014. He was born the youngest of eight children to William Levi and Bessie (Lynch) Howard, on August 18, 1926 in Bolivar, TX. He served in the US Army from 1945 - 1948, serving in the Philippines. He married Mary Jo Hulsey on May 8, 1957 in Bolivar. They moved to Hale Center in 1960 from Denton, TX and he was a 32 Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by 6 brothers, a sister, and a son, Bill in 1999. He is survived by his wife Mary Jo Howard of Hale Center, TX, a son, Johnny Howard and wife Donna of Yuma, AZ, daughter, Chella Bradshaw and husband Paul of Hale Center, 6 grandchildren, Michael Howard, Becky Howard, Mandy Bradshaw, Lacy Jo Bradshaw, James Bradshaw and Will Howard and 2 great grandchildren, Harley Bradshaw and Addison Howard.
