November 30, 1905 — April 11, 2005

Graveside Services for Grady Rogers 98, long-time resident of Abernathy, TX were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at the Abernathy I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Steve Gauntt, minister of the Church of Christ officiated. Mr. Rogers passed away Monday, April 11, 2005, in El Paso, TX where he had resided for the last nine years. Moses Grady Rogers was born September 20, 1906 in Benton, TN. Grady was the eighth child of the nine children born to Mose and Rachel Rogers. On June 28, 1938 he married Lucile Wilkins who preceded him in death. Two daughters, Janeane Herring of Abernathy, TX and Lou Ellen Clement of El Paso, TX, survive him. Their husbands Richard Herring and Kenneth Clement are the sons he never had. He had five grandchildren, Roger, Kaila and Stacia Clement and Eric and Emily Herring and one great-grandchild, Kylie Herring. A life-long mechanic, Grady retired from Dr. Pepper-Seven Up Co. of Lubbock. Many will remember his great sense of humor and love of life. Papa we will miss you.
