Services for Genaro Casas Rodriguez, 89, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 3:00 pm Saturday, January 3, 2009, in Elim Worship Center, Plainview, TX, with Rev. Roger Munoz and Rev. Danny Davilla officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Rodriguez died Thursday, January 1, 2009, in Hale Center, TX. He was born September 18, 1919 in Beaville, TX, and married Ofilia Zambrano on June 20, 1946 in South Texas. He moved to Hale Center in 1960 and was a member of the Church of the Valley in Hale Center. He was preceded in death by his wife Ofilia on November 14, 1990, a son, Abel Rodriguez in 1951, 5 sisters and 7 brothers. He is survived by 4 sons, Pedro Rodriguez of hale Center, TX, Raul Rodriguez of Ballinger, TX, Jose Rodriguez of Canyon, TX and Arvel "Abel" Rodriguez of Albuquerque, NM, 5 daughters, Margaret Alonzo and Belia Briseno both of Hale Center, TX, Sally Gerhardt of Crowell, TX, Monte Gomez of Lubbock, TX and Brenda Soleno of Dallas, TX, 33 grandchildren, 58 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
