Geanie Durrett

Geanie Toler Durrett was born November 8, 1942, to Marvin and Hazel (Mahon) Toler of Abernathy. Geanie attended Abernathy schools, graduating in 1961, and West Texas State University. Geanie lived in the Dallas area for many years, returning to Abernathy where she worked for the school system. She was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church and the Lubbock New Neighbors Club. She is survived by her three children, Kris of Memphis, TN, Krecia and husband Patrick Hicks of Sherwood, AR, and Kraig and wife Lisa of Winchendon, MA, and 5 grandchildren: Kala, Parker, Keianna, Elijah, and Carson and her sister, Margaret Toler, of Lubbock. A private burial will be held at the Abernathy IOOF Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 28, 2017, in the First Baptist Church in Abernathy. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.
