Gary Wingfield

Memorial services for Gary Grant Wingfield, 50, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 10:00 am Tuesday, July 3, 2012, in the Northside Baptist Church, Abernathy, TX. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Wingfield died Thursday, June 28, 2012, in Lubbock, TX. He was born May 8, 1962 in Plainview, TX to Vernon Lee Wingfield and Peggy Ann (Grant) Wingfield. He was raised in Petersburg and graduated Abernathy High School in 1980. He served in the United States Army from 1980 until 1982. He married Rebecca Lynne Kellner on April 5, 1982 in Colorado Springs, CO, and they lived in Colorado and Florida,where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida. He re-enlisted in the Army in 1986 and served until 1989. They returned to Lubbock in 2012. He was employed by the Lubbock County CRTC. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky) Wingfield of Lubbock, TX, a son Brent Allen Wingfield and his wife Karey and their son Max Allen Wingfield, all of Alpine, CA, a daughter, Melissa Nichole Ward and her husband Jason and their son Hunter Eugene Ward all of Park Hill, OK. He is also survived by his Mother Peggy Grant Urban of Birmingham, Alabama and 2 brothers, Dennis Lee Wingfield of Birmingham and Roy Lynn Urban of Corpus Christi, TX. Abell Funeral Home
