Services for Gary Douglas Vasek, 57, were held at 10:00 am Friday, June 10, 2011, in the Hale Center Church of Christ with Victor Ellison officiating. Burial followed in the Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Plainview, TX under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Vasek died at his residence in New Home, TX on June 6, 2011. He was born September 15, 1953 in Plainview, TX. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1972. He married Karen Murphy on August 4, 1990 in Houston, TX. He was employed with Snook and Aderton Warehouse in Lubbock. He is survived by his wife, Karen Vasek of New Home, TX, 2 sons, Koby Ryn Vasek of Lubbock, TX and Ryan Anthony Gifford of Irving, TX, 3 daughters, Tamber Shai Vasek of Lubbock, TX, Michelle Diane Robinson of Flower Mound, TX and Kristen Louise Trammell of Ft. Worth, TX and a brother, Miles Vasek of Lubbock, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Janelle (Golden) and Wesley Albert Vasek and a son, Kenneth Michael Gifford. Abell Funeral Home
