Services for Freda Faye Norris, 58, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 16, 2013, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Davis, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Norris died Monday, February 11, 2013, in Lubbock, TX. She was born March 11, 1954 to Cleopha and Josie Mae (Cooper) Hood in Abernathy. She married Larry Wayne Norris in 1972 in Lubbock. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and had been employed with Abernathy ISD since 1986. She participated in the Walk to Emaeus in 2006, had a passion for cooking and cleaning. She was also good at "directing others" or bossing as many would say. Freda is survived by her husband, Larry Wayne Norris and her mother Josie Hood both of Abernathy. Freda and Larry were blessed with 4 sons, all surviving their Mother, Terry Norris of Long Grove, OK, Scott Norris and Nathan Norris both of Abernathy and Larry Norris Jr. of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Randy and Ricky Hood both of Abernathy and Mickel Hood of Lubbock, 2 sisters, Virginia Hood of Abernathy, TX and Anita Wilson of Oklahoma City, OK and 14 grandchildren, Jordan, Austin, Tyler, Joshua, Larah, Jackson, Taislee, Eric, Zachary, Haley, Chloe, Matthew, Amaya and Liam.
