Franklin Thomas

Funeral services for Franklin Joseph "Joey" Thomas, 54, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Friday, July 20, 2007, in Abernathy's Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Morrow officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Thomas died at his home in Lubbock on Tuesday, July 17, 2007. He was born May 2, 1953 in Denison, TX to Calvin and Ruth (Potter) Thomas and he was a lifelong Lubbock resident. He served in the United States Army from 1970 until 1983. He was preceded in death by his Father, Calvin Lewis Thomas, Sr. on September 14, 1996 and a brother, Calvin Lewis "Skip" Thomas, Jr. on January 9, 2006. He is survived by his parents, Larry & Ruth Wheeler, a brother, Clay Thomas and his wife Sharon, a sister, Tina McKinney and her husband Brad all of Lubbock, TX. He is also survived by 2 sons, Tony Thomas of Houston, TX, Chip Thomas of Corsicana, TX, 2 daughters, Monica Maloney of Ft. Worth, TX and Rachel Gagne of Boston, Mass, and 5 grandchildren.
