Rosary for Francisco Borunda, 68, of Plainview and formerly of Hale Center, TX, will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday, Sept. 2nd, 2013 in St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Hale Center, with Rev. John Smith, pastor, officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00pam Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, in the same Church with the same officiant. Burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Borunda died Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, in Plainview, TX. He was born October 4, 1944 to Audon and Nicolasa (Hernandez) Borunda. He married Emidia Trejo in May 1967 in Mexico. He came to the United States from Mexico in 1979 and moved to Hale Center in 1994. He worked for Cargil until retiring in 2002. He resided in Plainview, at Prairie House, since February of 2012. He was preceded in death by a brother, Monce Borunda in 1971 and his father, Audon Borunda in 1972. Mr. Borunda is survived by his wife, Emidia Borunda, children, Armando Borunda, Francisco Borunda, Jr, and Beronica Ontiveros all of Hale Center, TX, Monce Borunda of Hobbs, NM and Octavio Borunda of Odessa, TX, 27 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, Mother, Nicolasa Hernandez of Mexico, and 6 siblings, Manuel Borunda, Audon Borunda and Josefina Borunda all of Mexico, Javier Borunda and Rafael Borunda all of Gruver, TX and Armida Tarango of Spearman, TX.
