Floyd Myatt

The family of Floyd Myatt, 87, of Abernathy, TX, will host a public visitation for friends and family, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Abell Funeral Home. Private family burial will be held in the Abernathy Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Floyd was born August 16, 1933 in Abernathy, TX to A. B. and Lola (Bryant) Myatt. He graduated Abernathy High School in 1951 and on June 15th of that year, he married JoAnn Halford in Abernathy. He was a member of the Abernathy Church of Christ and loved to farm and the challenges that came with farming. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, A. B. and Lola Myatt, and 2 brothers, Gwin "Pee Wee" Myatt and Donald Myatt. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Myatt of Abernathy, 4 sons, Randy Myatt and wife Donice of Lubbock, TX, Lindsey Myatt and wife Karen of Haslett, TX, Dayne Myatt and wife Dorinda of Murphy, TX and Scott Myatt and wife Nelda of Garland, TX, 5 grandsons and 5 granddaughters and 19 great grandchildren. The Myatt family wants to express special thanks to Teri, Jessica and the staff at Wilshire on 4th, and to the staff at Area Community Hospice.
