Rosary for Florencia Gerhardt, 93, of Hale Center, TX, was recited Sunday, June 15, 2003, at 7:00 pm at St. Theresa's Catholic Church with Rev. Reymundo Manriquez, pastor, officiating. Funeral Mass was held at 2:00 pm Monday, June 16, 2003, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Gerhardt died on Friday, June 13, 2003 in Hale Center. She was born on February 23, 1910 in Yeso, New Mexico. She married Alberto Gerhardt on March 10, 1931 in Ft. Sumner, N.M., and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1963. She was a longtime Hale Center resident and a member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Corina Rodriquez in 2001. She is survived by; 6 sons, Ray Gerhardt and Lousi Gerhardt both of Hale Center, TX, Adolph Gerhardt of Ft. Collins, CO, Nester Gerhardt of Burley, Idaho, George Gerhardt of Rupert, Idaho and Dennis Gerhardt of Ft. Worth, TX. 2 daughters, Rosa Rivera of Amarillo, TX, and Tina Gerhardt of Hale Center, TX. 1 sister, Lola Chavez of Encino, N.M. 52 grandchildren, 84 great grandchildren and 17 great-great-granchildren.
