F. Rogers

Funeral services for F. W. Rogers, 91, of Abernathy, were held at 10:00 am Thursday, May 31, 2001, in the Abernathy First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Arlen Ankle and Rev. Garland Wallace, officiating. Burial followed services in the Terrace Cemetery, Post, Texas, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Rogers died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, in Hale Center, Tx. He was born on March 23, 1910 in Haskell, Tx. He married Maggie Jewell Bingham on June 21, 1931 in Post. He graduated from Pasadena College in Pasadena, Calif. He pastored Nazarene churches in Blamorhea,Tx., Nacadoches,Tx., Goldthwaite, Tx., Midland, Tx., San Antonio, Tx., Hillsboro, Tx., Dallas, Tx., and Texarkana, Tx. He moved to Abernathy in 1985 from Post and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Abernathy. He is survived by his wife; Maggie Jewell Rogers of Abernathy, Tx., a daughter; Nova Mang of Wimberly, Tx., 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
