Eugene Snodgrass

Services for Rayburn Eugene Snodgrass, 76, of Lubbock, TX, and formerly of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 11, 2004, in the First Baptist Church, Abernathy, TX. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Snodgrass died Monday, February 9, 2004, in Lubbock, TX. He was born September 17, 1927 in Hedley, TX to Claud W. and Retta Mae (Harris) Snodgrass. He had lived in New Deal and Abernathy and moved to Lubbock's Lakeside Rehabilitation Care Center where he lived for 28 years. He greeted passersby from his wheelchair on every sunny day. Survivors; 2 brothers, Y. F. and his wife Mary Jo Snodgrass of Abernathy, TX and Phillip Don and his wife Leona Snodgrass of Big Lake, TX. The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity.
