Services for Eugene Kemp, Jr., 65, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, May 10, 2006, in the Abernathy Church of Christ. Graveside services were held Friday, May 12, 2006, in the Cienega Cemetery, Crow Flat, NM, at 11:00 am MST. Mr. Kemp died Monday, May 8, 2006, in Hale Center, TX. He was born January 24, 1941 in Valley View, TX. He served in the United States Army from 1958 until 1961. He married Minnie Ruth Dean, August 25, 1962 in Abernathy, TX. They moved to Abernathy in 1969 and were members of the Church of Christ, where Mr. Kemp served as Deacon. He is survived by 2 sons, Jesse Kemp and his wife Rhonda of Beaumont, TX, and David Kemp and his wife Kristy of Abernathy, TX, 4 grandchildren, Kascidee & Jared Kemp and Justin and Morgan DeRouen, 3 brothers, Porter Kemp and Robert Kemp both of Abernathy, TX and Wayne Kemp of Lubbock, TX, a sister, Linda Cozart of Abernathy and a half-sister, Imogene DeBord of Lubbock, TX.
