Graveside services for Estelle Wheeler, 87, of Hale Center, TX were held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2002, in Hale Center Cemetery with Rev. Lanny Wheeler officiating. Services were under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Wheeler died Wednesday, August 7, 2002, at Prairie House Living Center in Plainview, Texas. She was born April 13, 1915 in Wilmouth, Texas. She married J.O. Wheeler on November 6, 1935 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 14, 200. They moved to Hale Center in 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Hale Center. Survivors include: 2 sons: Lanny Wheeler of Gunnison, CO and Larry Wheeler of Lubbock, TX. 2 daughters: Ann Wheeler of Plainview, TX and Vicky McKinney of Hale Center, TX. 2 brothers: Jim Ballew of Tulsa, OK, and Delbert Ballew of Oklahoma City, OK. 1 sister: Lillian Tekelle of Alamogordo, NM 11 grandchildren 15 great grandchildren She is preceeded by her husband and 1 daughter, June Wheeler.
