Services for Estell Owen, 81, of New Deal, TX, were held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 2, 2004, in the New Deal First Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Jones and Rev. Randy Holman officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Owen died Monday, November 29, 2004, in Lubbock, TX. She was born July 16, 1923 in Gustine, TX. She lived in Lubbock before moving to New Deal in 1951. She was preceded in death by a son, Lester Gene Owen, December 31, 2004. She is survived by a son, Gary Owen of New Deal, TX, 2 daughters, Gladys Owen and Shirley Owen both of New Deal, TX, 3 brothers, Garland Miller of Hurst, TX, Virgil Herman Miller of Ft. Worth, TX, B. A. Miller of Stephenville, TX, 2 sisters, Myrline Gill of Waco, TX, Johnnie Manasco of Ft. Worth, TX, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
