Graveside services for Ervin J. Duncan, 81, of Post, TX were held at 10:00 am Monday, December 10, 2007, in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Duncan died Friday, December 7, 2007. He was born October 28, 1926 to Oscar Ervin and Ollie Maud (White) Duncan. He was raised in Wolfe City, TX, and married Mamie Louise Pilkington on July 17, 1943 in Greenville, TX. In 1951 they moved to Hale Center from Leonard, TX. He was employed with International Harvestor in Hale Center until retirement. He then owned and operated Duncan's Garage and later repaired lawn mowers. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hale Center. He was preceded in death by his wife, 3 children, James Ervin Duncan, Charles Lee Duncan and Betty Fay Duncan, 3 brothers, Clyde Edward, Tommy and Tony Duncan, 3 sisters, Betty Nell Gaskill, Gloria Jean Holiday and Delia Mae Duncan. He is survived by a son, Tommy Douglas Duncan of Seymour, TX, a daughter, Shirley Malett of Lubbock, TX, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Troy Lee Duncan of Coffman, TX, John W. Duncan of Bonham, TX and Billy Duncan of Wolfe City, TX, 2 sisters, Lorene Caldwell of Wolfe City, TX and Freida Hines of Plano, TX. Abell Funeral Home
