Ernest Brewer

Graveside services for Ernest E. Brewer, 68, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 9:00 am Monday, May 30, 2005, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Tyler Looney, grandson of Mr. Brewer, officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Brewer died at his home Sunday, May 29, 2005. He was born to Spencer Smith Brewer and Mattie Pearl Garrison Brewer, March 2, 1937, in Habersham County, GA. He married Loraine Hartman June 1, 1955 in Lubbock, TX. Mr. Brewer served in the United States Air Force and had lived in the Abernathy/New Deal areas for many years. He served as pastor of the Center Church from 1967 until retiring in 1987. He loved music and as a result family members to play various instruments. He is survived by his wife Loraine Brewer of Abernathy, TX, 3 sons, Tony and Pete both of Lubbock, TX and John of Sherman, TX and a daughter Cindy Hughlett of Lubbock, TX. He is also survived by 4 brothers, Paul Brewer of Sumpter, SC, Joe Brewer and Everett Brewer both of Cornelia, GA and Carl Brewer of Alto, GA. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Joe Arrington Cancer Center, Lubbock, TX or to Hospice of Lubbock. Abell Funeral Home
