Emma Bray

Services for Emma C. Bray, 90, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Friday, April 7, 2006, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Paul Coffman officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Bray died Wednesday morning, April 5, 2006, in Lubbock, TX. She was born March 11, 1916 in Ft. Smith, Ark. She married Joel W. Bray in 1945 in Frederick, OK. He preceded her in death on January 20, 1980. They moved to Abernathy in 1950 from Lubbock, and she taught 2nd grade at Abernathy Elementary School for 33 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Abernathy Senior Citizens and the 1935 Study Club. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Hill in 1986. She is survived by 2 sons, David Bray and his wife Charlene of Lubbock, TX, and Bruce Bray and his wife Karen of Austin, TX, 4 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to Whisperwood Nursing Home, 5502 4th Street, Lubbock, TX 79416. Abell Funeral Home
