Elma Mock

Services for Elma"Mama Dean" Mock, 79, of Lubbock, TX and formerly of Abernathy, TX were held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 23, 2004 in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Speedy Faith officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mrs. Mock died at her home in Lubbock, Tuesday, April 20, 2004. She was born April 11, 1925 in Stephens County, TX to A. D. and Lola Haston. She married John Joseph Mock, Sr. July 7, 1943 in Amarillo, TX. She had lived in Abernathy and Wichita Falls before moving to Lubbock in 1994 from San Angelo, TX. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a volunteer "Mama Dean" at a daycare with her granddaughter for the past 7 years. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 26, 1992, and a grandson, JoDan Williams in February of 1996. Survivors include; a son, John "Buddy" Mock of Denver City, TX, 2 daughters, JoAnn Williams of Post, TX, and Margie "Sunny" Mock of Lubbock, TX. 3 brothers, John Haston and Frank Haston both of San Angelo, TX and A. D. Haston of Jacksboro, TX. 2 sisters, Dixie Arlene Faith of Lovington, NM and Letta Stephenson of Lubbock, TX, 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
