Elayne Guerrant

Graveside services for Elayne (Halford) Guerrant, 92, of Abernathy, TX will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 21, 2016, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Guerrant died Saturday, January 16, 2016, in Temple, TX. She was born November 10, 1923 in Aquilla, TX, to William Virgil and Loris Nannie ( Tarver) Halford. She graduated Abernathy High School in 1941 and attended West Texas State University prior to enlisting in the US Navy Waves, serving from August 7, 1944 until August 15, 1946. She married William Edward Guerrant June 5, 1948 in Reno, NV. She is preceded in death by her husband, March 25, 2002, son, Gregory Alan Guerrant on August 9, 2004 and a sister, Jeanelle Ward. She is survived by 4 children, Steve Guerrant and wife Cheryl of San Antonio, TX, Larry Guerrant and wife Judy of Lorena, TX, Gerre Guerrant and wife Diane of Houston, TX and Kathi Guerrant of San Francisco, CA, 7 grandchildren, Luke Guerrant and wife Savita of Houston, Kendra Williamson and husband Jay and Kelly Baker and husband Bobby all of Lorena, Shiloh Raquet and husband Stephen and Rachel Guerrant all of Chicago, Matthew Guerrant and wife Rachel of Ft. Worth and Justin Guerrant of Dallas and 9 great grandchildren, Cole, Sloane, McCall, McLaren, Gyan, Kennedy, William, Madeline and Hunter, and a sister Jo Ann Myatt and husband Floyd of Abernathy.
