Douglas Ray Loper

Douglas Ray Loper, 68 of Abernathy, TX died Sunday, November 20, 2022 in Lubbock, TX. Cremation services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. He was born October 6, 1954 in Lubbock, TX to Mayo and Wilma Tijauna Loper. Douglas was raised in Abernathy, and attended South Plains College after high school. While attending college as a music major, Douglas was a member of the South Plains College Choir. He moved to Dallas and Sherman, before returning to Abernathy in 2018. Douglas was a member of the Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his mother Wilma Tijauna Loper and brother Tony Loper. Douglas is survived by his father Mayo Loper of Abernathy, sister Judy Gunter of Lubbock, twin brother David Loper and wife Judy of Spokane, WA and numerous nieces and nephews.
