Dorothy Arthur

Graveside services for Dorothy Arthur, 69, of Abernathy, TX, were held Monday, November 22, 2004, at 11:00 am in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Arthur died Friday, November 19, 2004, in Lubbock, TX. She was born October 14, 1935 in Grayford, TX. She was a lifelong resident of the Abernathy Community. She married Dale Ted Arthur, March 7, 1957, in the Lakeview Community. He preceded her in death December 12, 1999. She helped her husband as a "farm wife" for over 30 years. She is survived by a son, Grady Arthur of Amarillo, TX, 4 daughters, Kathy Word and Ronda McKinney both of Abernathy, TX, Donna Arthur and Susan Scoggins both of Lubbock, TX, 11 grandchildren and one sister, Louise Johnson of Mauldin, SC. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Slaton EMS or the American Diabetes Association. Abell Funeral Home
