Services for Doris Stone Lucero, 75,of Hale Center, TX, were held 2:00 pm Thursday, November 6, 2008 in the First Baptist Church in Hale Center with Terry W. Jones, Chaplain of Advanced Home Health and Hospice and Dr. Carroll Green, pastor officiating. . Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Lucero died on Monday, November 3, 2008 in Plainview, TX. She was born August 30, 1933 in Yeso, NM and married William Lucero on December 8, 1952 in Clovis, NM. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW and she was a Baptist. She is survived by her husband William Lucero of Hale Center, TX a son, Bill Lucero and wife Sabrina of Hale Center, TX, 6 daughters, Yvonne Lucero, Sylvia Payne and husband John, Esther Perkins and husband Rodney, Christina Stevens and husband, Michael, all of Amarillo, TX and Patsy Botello and Sandra Martin and husband Tony both of Lubbock, TX, 2 brothers, Ernest Stone of Spearman, TX, Benjamin Stone of Amarillo, TX, 3 sisters, Cecilia Mendez of Amarillo, TX, Lucy Guitterez of Odom, TX and Pauline Garcia of Tucson, AZ, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
