Don Barcheers

Don Barcheers, 70, of Abernathy, passed away on July 22, 2026, in Sherman, Texas. He was born on July 16, 1956, to Clifford and Mary (White) Barcheers.

Don was a lifelong resident of Abernathy and attended Abernathy Schools. He was known for his strong work ethic, dedication to his family, and willingness to help others. In 1995, Don founded D Bar B Trucking, building a successful business through hard work and determination. Outside of work, Don enjoyed building and working on racecars and dragsters. He loved spending time in the garage with family and friends, sharing his passion for racing and mechanics.

He is survived by his children, Clifford Barcheers of Lubbock, TX, April Barcheers of Dallas, TX, Billy Barcheers of Abernathy, TX,  McKana Brock of Paradise, TX, Josh Cochran, and Ashley Cochran both of Abernathy, 19 grandchildren and his brothers, Eugene Barcheers and Charles Barcheers both of Abernathy.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Barcheers, and his mother, Mary Barcheers. 

Family will gather to receive friends Monday, July 27, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Abell Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held the following day, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Strip Pearce Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
