Rosary for Dolores Villanueva. 91, of Abernathy, TX, will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday, December 21, 2014, at St. Isidore Catholic Church with Rev. Jacob Puthuparambil, pastor officiating. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Monday, December 22nd, in the same church. Burial will follow services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Villanueva died Thursday, December 18, 2014. She was born March 23, 1923 in Mission, TX, to Antonio and Guadalupe (Guiterez) Mendoza. She moved to Abernathy in 1948 from Robstown, TX. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church, where she was active Guadalupanas, the Alter Society, Cursillistas and the Franciscians Organiztion in Plainview, TX. She was preceded in death by 3 children, Guadalupe Villanueva in 2004, Juan Villanueva in 2005 and Susana Gonzales in 2012. She is survived by 2 sons, Antonio Villanueva and wife Janie of Lubbock, TX and Roy Villanueva and wife Frances of Abernathy, TX, 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
